The Edge has slightly larger wheels than the Escape, sporting 18, 19, or 20-inch tires. In comparison, the Escape gets 17, 18, or 19 inch tires.

There is no difference in towing capacity between the two vehicles, as both are capable of 3500 pounds, with the right type of equipment.
Engine Options:
The 2021 Ford Escape is available with two engine options- a 3-cylinder with 181 hp of power and 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder hybrid engine with 250 hp of power. Engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front Wheel Drive is standard, and All Wheel Drive is available as an option.
In contrast, the 2021 Ford Edge comes with a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with 250 hp and a 2.7 liter EcoBoost twin turbocharged V6 that churns out a powerful thrust of 335 hp. An 8-speed automatic transmission is available in this vehicle, though the ST comes with a 7-speed automatic. It is also available in both Front Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive options. The more powerful engine is fitted in the Edge ST, which is clearly more powerful than engines in the Escape.
Cargo Space:
The difference in sizes between the two SUV’s translates into proportional cargo spaces as well. The 2021 Ford Escape, with 33.5 cubic feet of space with all rows of seats up, offers less space than 39.2 cubic feet in the 2021 Ford Edge. Similarly, the Edge provides 73.4 cubic feet with rear seats folded down, and this comes down to 65.4 cubic feet in the Escape. Therefore, individuals who need to carry more cargo and passengers as well must consider the Edge.
