One of the best times to be merry is the holiday season. It is that period of the year again where the entire family gets cozy around fires and spends quality time while sipping on hot chocolate. If you’ve been watching the snow fall in beautiful patterns outside and longing to go out for a drive, make sure you follow the safety guidelines mentioned below.

  1. Start fresh and alert– Begin the drive after a healthy amount of sleep the previous day. Also, ensure that you get rest once the drive is over. Take frequent stops, or else driver fatigue could make you have mistakes on the road.
  2. Plan the trip- Your vehicle must be in good shape to tackle the current cold conditions. Plan the day by checking the weather a few hours before leaving; this will help you know the safe roads. Do not forget to carry a windshield scraper for removing excess snow.
  3. Use technology- Check Google Maps on your smartphone to know the most suitable route for your trip. In addition, a good road trip app will help organize your entire trip, including luggage and places to visit.
  4. Drive defensively- Traffic jams and slippery winter roads can create havoc for your roads trip. For the sake your own safety, always let the impatient and aggressive drivers go ahead at any intersection. This will give you the chance to control the flow of traffic.
  5. Speed thrills but kills- Maintain distance with vehicles in the front and keep your speed under check, so that you can apply brakes in any condition. If you unnecessarily try to drive at high speeds on slippery winter roads, it could lead to serious injuries.
  6. Wearing seat belts- The best way to protect yourself in a high impact or low impact crash is to wear a seat belt. It is a very simple but powerful method of protection in an accident. All passengers must be encouraged to do so.
  7. Stay away from distractions- Sending and viewing text messages while driving is a strict no-no. It would mean taking eyes off the road for almost 5 seconds; imagine how much can happen there at 60 mph. If it is necessary to communicate, do it after pulling over to the side.
  8. Never drive under the influence- Winter will give you numerous opportunities to drink, whether at other peoples’ houses or at restaurants. If you wish to drink, remember to not drive that evening. Either get a designated driver for the occasion or sleep over. In case you take the wheel, you will put not just yourself but even other motorists at risk.
  9. Accident coverage- Do you wish to safeguard your vehicle from unexpected accidents? If so, contact your insurance agent to know the details about accident coverage options for you.
  10. Practical ways to prevent car theft– Certain simple techniques like always parking in known spots and keeping valuables and keys on you helps prevent vehicle theft. Do not make expensive items in your car visible at any cost; you can even keep them under the seats.

Frosty streets and chilly climate can negatively affect drivers and vehicles. The following are some tips to winterize your vehicle, and you can travel to your destination during the freezing weather.

Clear the vision: Having a clear view of the road is critical, which is why you have to pick the correct windshield wipers for winter. The wipers for winter accompany an elastic covering that shields ice from gathering on the blades. This may appear to be straightforward; however, going with an awful arrangement of wipers can be perilous if this elastic has torn or weakened from the late spring sun.

Clear the ice and fallen snow from your vehicle before you get moving. While it may be enticing just to remove the snow of the windows and drive, not clearing accumulated snow or ice endanger others. When you’re driving, that snow might fly and get into the way of drivers behind you. If there is an accident because of this, you may be found to blame and answerable for costs.

Winter Tires are something to consider: While you drive during the winter, you might require managing a lot of snow, slush, and ice. You might face challenges at times while driving, and it can be perilous because of those dangerous conditions. However, if you have the right tires, for example, studded or winter tires, it can be convenient when going in snow and cold conditions.

If you drive in a snowy or mountainous area, studded tires can assist drivers with a smooth drive. (Remember that you should remove those tires when winter is over else you could bring about a fine from your state or nearby watch office as these tires can pummel streets.)

Battery checking: This is significant during winter to ensure vehicles don’t get abandoned anytime without having the option to turn on the radiator. For those going in far off regions, some convey an on-board power inverter with the capacity to hop a vehicle battery. These can usually charge PDAs and regularly have a crisis light in-built as well.

Coolant should not be allowed to freeze: To check your vehicle coolant is a fundamental part of ensuring you are ready to drive during winter. For this, you should follow the vehicle upkeep rules and producer specifications for consistency and well-being.

Servicing is essential: Throughout the winter months, certain parts are at more severe danger of malfunctioning, which is the reason it’s critical to ensure your vehicle is all around serviced when entering the colder months. Terrible hoses, belts, water siphons, and sparkle fittings can bring about your vehicles getting abandoned, which is particularly hazardous during winter.

Another essential aspect to remember is checking adequate tire pressure and ensuring they are adequately inflated so that you don’t lose balance on snowy and slippery roads during winter.

Be Ready for Anything: No one can really tell when you are going to be hit by a snowstorm or a hurricane, unexpectedly leaving vehicles stuck and abandoned on roads. In these cases, drivers ought to have a winter readiness pack locally available, such as water, food, covers, an electric lamp, and maybe even a scoop.

Chilly climate and winter street conditions can affect the security of your vehicles.  Hopefully, with these tips, you’ll be able to drive safely this winter.

Can I change just one tire?

Yes, it is possible to change only one tire, but only when the other three tires have most of their treads intact. The reason four tires must be similar is because it will lend uniformity in handling and overall vehicle performance, which encompasses activities such as cornering, braking and accelerating. You wouldn’t want your tires to start skidding if you are accelerating in an emergency, would you?

When is it necessary to change a tire?

The tread depth is an easy determiner of whether your vehicle’s tire needs replacement or not. If it goes below the recommended level in your state, you are likely to face major problems in wet conditions, where the vehicle could start hydroplaning. The greater problem would be when your vehicle is unable to stop in time due to low tread depth.

If your tires haven’t been rotated for a really long time and you don’t remember when this was last done, it could lead to heavy damage on the front tires. These tires carry the weight of the car and are also responsible for steering it, which means that they may need to be replaced.

Before you decide to embark on a trip, it is always a good idea to inspect the condition of your tires and change them if necessary. An alignment check is an absolute must, even if you got it done a couple of months ago.

Purchase in pairs

As mentioned earlier, you will not be purchasing only one tire in 99% of the cases. You will find that most tire shops sell you pairs of tires for safety purposes. This may be necessary if warranties are applicable only on two tires and not one. If three tires are already in bad condition, then ensure that you purchase all four and do not try to save money on the last one.

Some people think that in a FWD (Front Wheel Drive) vehicle, it is a good idea to install the new tires at the back instead of the front; with FWD you should put the new tires at the front. However, the minority argues the above point by stating that while front wheel skids can be controlled, it is virtually impossible to control a rear wheel slide, unless you are well trained to do so.

Do not purchase secondhand tires

You might be lured by secondhand tire shops on the Internet which sell used tires at very low rates. Although they might seem tempting, buying them would simply mean that you are compromising on the safety and performance of your vehicle. They will not last even half as long as new tires, even if they aren’t very old. You will also see a noticeable difference in its diameter as compared to the new tires, with the former tires being thinner.

Why did one tire wear out faster?

If you are thinking about replacing just the one tire, it’s a good idea to find out why this tire got worn out the fastest amongst them all. If this has not happened due to weather conditions or due to very large potholes you may have bigger problems a few years down the road.

Whenever you think about Halloween nights and the surroundings during that time, it’s everything about the dreadful things. One of them is a vehicle, obviously. Following is a rundown of probably the spookiest vehicles that looks especially terrifying:

Wacky Races — The Mean Vehicle

This 1968 cartoon featured 11 drivers going head to head in various road rallies across the nation. Some characters, like Dick Dastardly and his Mean Machine, were regulars in the races, while others only appeared a couple of times or less.

Some of the other fictional vehicles used in these races included fan favorites like, the Creepy Coupe, the Arkansas Chuggabug, the Buzz Wagon and many more.

Scooby Doo — The Mystery Machine

One of the most unmistakable television and film franchises in existence, Scooby Doo and his Mystery Machine have been solving supernatural mysteries with the gang since 1969. Their groovy VW-inspired van was equipped with everything they needed to keep their community safe, and still had enough room for a few pounds of Scooby Snacks.

The Munsters — The Munster Koach

This car was built by famed Hollywood custom car designer George Barris specifically for The Munsters. The Munsters ran for two seasons between 1964 – 1966. It was a comedic horror that opened the door into a family of monsters, just yearning to be accepted by their neighbors.

Ghostbusters — Ecto-1

The world-famous Ecto-1 is based on a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex. This bizarre Cadillac is an unusual combination of a limo and ambulance, resulting in a strange and surprisingly likeable frankenstein of a vehicle. The 1984 Ghostbusters movie benefitted from one of the greatest comedic casts of all time, anchored by legends like Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray. Still recognizable to this day, it is almost impossible to see it to this day without immediately thinking, “who ya gonna call?”

You may not be able to find any of the cars above at our dealership, but you can reserve a 2021 Bronco, find a pre-owned Mustang, or get behind the wheel of a new F-150 today. Stop by or reach out to get the ball rolling.

We all know it to be true, it isn’t Halloween season until you start seeing perfectly carved pumpkins on porches throughout the community. If you are looking to make your own jack-o-lantern this year, you have come to the right place. This blog will guide you through making the perfect jack-o-lantern within minutes.

What You Need

Before getting started, let’s take a look at the things you will need to carve your pumpkin.

  • Medium-sized pumpkin
  • Sharpie or permanent marker for drawing
  • A pumpkin carving kit t
  • Two medium-sized bowls
  • Kitchen towel
  • Tea light candle

Carving the Perfect Pumpkin

Now that you have understood all the essential items you need, you can simply follow the below steps to carve the perfect pumpkin.

Location, Location, Location!

Before you begin carving, you will need to pick a location from which to work. It would be best if you choose an outdoor place to reduce the mess in your house. Remember to lay out butcher paper or newspaper around your workspace to make cleanup easier down the road.

Design Your Pumpkin

Take out your permanent marker and draw your design on the pumpkin. Carefully draw the eyes, nose, and toothy grin. Don’t forget to draw the lid, which should be around 5-6 inches in diameter around the stem.

Carve Your Creation

Follow the lines that you have drawn on the pumpkin and slowly carve it out using the knife. Cut the lid as well to create the perfect opening to place the light. Make sure you cut at a 45 degree inward angle to prevent the lid from falling into the pumpkin.

Scoop the Seeds

Remove the seeds and scrape out the insides of the pumpkin to give it a clean finish. You do not have to waste the seeds, simply toss them in oil with your favorite seasoning, roast them at 300℉ at 45 minutes or until golden brown, then enjoy.

Clean Your Canvas

When you are scraping out the pumpkin, the outside can also get a little messy. Take your kitchen towel and wipe off the outside and prepare for the next step.

Finishing Touches

After cleaning the pumpkin, you need to work on the details to make it look more appealing. You need to use an X-ACTO knife for this to smooth out the rough edges.

Shine On

The final step is to light up your pumpkin with the help of tea candlelight. Place your candle at the bottom of the pumpkin and light it up to see the magic.

Voila! Your jack-o-lantern is ready to add to your Halloween decorations. Happy Halloween!

Affordable and functional, you’re sure to see a wave of these hit Bristol roads once the Bronco finally becomes available at Tennessee dealerships.

Big Bend — 2-Door: $33,385* | 4-Door: $35,880*

Immediately noticeable thanks to its slightly larger 17-inch carbonized gray-painted aluminium wheels and a carbonized gray grille, the Big Bend is a slightly more capable and stylized off-roading SUV. Whether you’re winding up the tight roads to Pinnacle Mountain Fire Tower or slowly creeping up mainstreet on a Saturday night in Kingsport, the Big Bend is a real crowd pleaser wherever it goes.

Black Diamond — 2-Door: $36,050* | 4-Door: $38,545*

This trim also features Mid Package and Sasquatch Package amenities as standard.

Sport (4-Door Only)

Base — $26,660*

Powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost® engine and still retaining the G.O.A.T.™ Terrain Management System, the Base Bronco Sport stays true to its aesthetic roots while adding cavernous cargo, a smoother road feel, and a safari-style roof to an already long list of desirable benefits. The Base Sport also benefits from a more robust suite of technological and safety features, including: an eight-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capabilities, and Ford Co-Pilot 360™, among many others.

Big Bend — $28,160*

Adventure-ready at a moment’s notice, the Big Bend Bronco Sport puts more emphasis on off-road capabilities than the Base trim. With smart additions, like: easy-to-clean cloth bucket seats, rubberized cargo floor and second-row seat back protectors, and 17-inch carbonized gray-painted high-gloss aluminum wheels, the Big Bend is ready to go beyond where other vehicles can, and make it look absurdly easy in the process.

Outer Banks — $32,160*

Meticulously refined on the inside and out, the Outer Banks Bronco Sport somehow folds in an added level of luxury without sacrificing capability. With a sleek shadow-black roof, the Outer Banks trim fits in as well in the backcountry as it does opening night at the LampLight Theater. Drivers who opt for this trim enjoy, among other luxurious features, a leather-trimmed interior, ambient lighting, remote start system, and a 6.5-inch digital instrument panel all as standard.

Badlands — $32,660*

Stepping up to a 2.0-liter EcoBoost® engine for the Badlands trim, this variation is the most capable of the Bronco Sport trims. From the jump, it’s easy to see the performance potential oozing from every nook and cranny of this beautiful beast. From its 28.5-inch all-terrain tires, to special off-road suspension, to the metal bash plates, the Badlands Bronco Sport seamlessly combines comfort, convenience, and capability for those lucky enough to drive it.

Summation By Style

Two-Door

The 2-door is the perfect option for drivers who still want all of the modern amenities found in today’s SUVs without sacrificing the nostalgic feel many Bronco buyers are looking for. Boasting classic Americana aesthetics in an undeniably agile and capable frame, this SUV is ideal for the outdoorsy type that rolls with a limited crew.

Four-Door

The 4-door Bronco is the most evolved interpretation of the classic that started it all. Seamlessly combining traditional SUV cargo and passenger space with extreme off-roading capabilities, this ruggedly luxurious workhorse is ready to help you traverse Tennessee mountains, Carolina coastlines, and anything else you may encounter on and off the road in style.

Sport

Slightly more affordable and more comfortable during everyday driving than its counterpart, the 2021 Bronco Sport offers a few less off-roading capabilities, but adds more space and modern SUV comfort to the overall package. This makes the Bronco Sport an ideal candidate for anyone looking for a more traditional-feeling SUV that emphasises style and capability.

Saddle Up

With all of the trims being offered in the 2021 Bronco, it may be difficult to make your decision right away. Take some time to mull over the information above and find the Bronco that fits your life best.
