The F-150 is one of the most iconic trucks manufactured by Ford Motor Company, and was launched way back in 1975. Having undergone several changes over the years, the 2021 F-150 will roll onto lots in early 2021. Here’s a look at why this pickup continues to be so popular from coast to coast.

Trims

  • XL
  • XLT
  • Lariat
  • Platinum

Three cab sizes: Regular, Crew, and Extended are available. The new F-150 will also come with three bed configurations.

Exterior

The F-150 has been Ford’s best-selling vehicle in both the US and Canada. With such high popularity, it is only natural that a redesign would garner  such high expectations. According to the designers, every exterior panel has been changed. Additional updates to the design include:

  • Higher front fenders
  • Redesigned headlamps
  • Powerdome hood
  • Wraparound bumpers
  • Larger tires

In addition to the above, there will also be 11 different grill designs available between the various trim levels.

Powertrain

Each of the following engines is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The engine options include:

 Engine/Horsepower

  • 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost/325
  • 2.7-liter V6/325
  • 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6/290
  • 3.5-liter PowerBoost hybrid/375
  • 3.0-liter V6 Turbo Diesel/250
  • 5.0-liter V8/395

Interior

  • The XLT sport variant gets Detroit map embossments, and an American flag facade is visible on one side of the dashboard
  • The Sync4 infotainment system runs through a centrally located eight-inch touchscreen in the XLT and XL trims and a 12-inch touchscreen in the XLT Lux package and higher
  • Flat folding driver seat for quick naps, available in the King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trim levels
  • Shifter folds down and allows a console-mounted tray to open over it, enabling truck users to work on their laptops
  • A variety of storage compartments on the passenger’s side
  • Fleet operators can use commercial telematics to track their trucks
  • Over-the-air updates from bumper-to-bumper
  • Voice activated navigation
  • 4G Internet through a Wifi Hotspot

You will find a few more changes in the bed of the F-150 that makes this pickup truck a delight to own, including:

  • Power-operated running boards down the side of the truck for easy reach into its cargo area
  • Onboard generator, ideal for work, play, or even emergencies.

Its strong body is made from a military-grade, high-strength aluminum-alloy. The truck’s frame has been extensively stress tested and can easily conquer any obstacles it encounters.
