Use Recommended Motor Oil
Car manufacturers test their engines with various types of motor oil. The motor oil they recommend is the one that brings the best engine performance in various circumstances. Aftermarket product manufacturers make tall claims about their products to attract car owners, but viscosity and ingredients differ with every type of motor oil. This means that other oil brands might not offer optimal engine protection in certain conditions, which would affect both engine performance and fuel economy. Check Air Filters
Modern cars have air flow sensors and computer controlled fuel injectors that help maintain an ideal air-fuel ratio in the engine’s combustion compartment. If the air filter is clogged, it will hamper the air flow and the fuel will not burn efficiently. This allows air to enter the fuel tank and when the engine burns fuel, the air mixed with fuel enters the combustion chamber. This will affect the air-fuel mixture and lead to incomplete combustion, which decreases your gas mileage.
